Bars’ lays out his process by combing science, stories, experience, and scripture- lots of scripture! Since he has seen a significant, measurable turn-around in his own life, he writes so that others could benefit from understanding what he has learned.
The benefit to this book is getting the chance to read another person’s journey and see how and if it could relate to your own faith walk. There are some personalities who will really gravitate to this kind of discipleship tool.
My caution about this book is that it came across too strong at some points—sometimes Bar would share his personal views on various points of theology which didn’t necessarily fit in with the premise of the book. Some could read these sections and be turned off to the main reason the book was written. I hope Bars’ next book will take this into consideration.
You will certainly be encouraged by Bars’ charisma—anybody who uses six exclamation points in his title is certainly excited about what he has to share!
